Make a statement. Gold plated iconic and playful panther brooch. Features black and white enamel with clear and green round-cut Swarovski crystals. Closes with a double prong style clasp. Signed Kenneth Lane. The panther animal represents power and protection. This animal is a symbol of valor, courage, and determination. Kenneth Jay Lane’s “big cat” pieces were inspired by the Cartier`s fine jewellery created in the 1940s and 50s for the Duchess of Windsor. Gold plate, enamel and Swarovski crystal, 7 cm x 2 cm ABOUT THE DESIGNER Initially working for Hattie Carnegie, and beginning his career as a shoe designer, Kenneth Jay Lane created baubles in his free time. His first costume jewellery show at New York's Saks Fifth Avenue sold out in one day. His pieces were coveted by the Duchess of Windsor, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy. By the 1960`s the company became known as K.J.L and were producing brooches and other pieces that reflected Asian influences, incorporating everything from Buddhas to dragons to Indian Goddesses.
