Description

The most desired label in the world. Floral print chiffon silk scarf with colourful camellia flowers and butterflies complimented with stylised CC logos entwined among a floral print with a mustard coloured background. There are many suggestions as to why the Camellia was Coco Chanel`s favourite flower. One was that Coco Chanel was said to have been deeply moved by Sarah Bernhardt`s performance of " Lady of the Camellias" from a very young age. Another charming one - she was asked one morning what she was having for breakfast. "A Camellia", she said. The flower of Chanel was first pinned onto her chiffon dresses in 1923 and then transformed onto many of her couture designs and jewellery to suit her everyday fantasies. This Chanel item has been authenticated by Susan Caplan. We are not affiliated or endorsed by the brand. Silk, 136 cm x 135 cm ABOUT THE DESIGNER The legendary Coco Chanel was a champion of costume jewellery mixing fine and costume pieces together. She was one of the most influential fashion icons of all time. During a very brief career as a cabaret singer, Chanel performed in clubs in Vichy and Moulins where she was nicknamed “Coco.” Chanel jewellery is generally bold in design, gold or silver plated with distinctive colouring. Her iconic CC's seen on so many of her creations was an interpretation of a stained glass window in the Aubazine Abbey, Correze, in France where she spent her early years in the orphanage at Aubazine.
