1980s Vintage Napier Maple Leaf Brooch

A brilliantly artistic leaf from Napier. 23ct triple gold plated sculpted maple leaf brooch. Features round-cut clear Swarovski crystals and a faux pearl centre. Safety-catch pin closure, signed Napier. The Maple leaf is the emblem of Canada. It is suggested that The Queen Mother, then Queen Elizabeth, received a maple leaf brooch from George VI before the couple toured Canada in 1939 - Although another version implies it was a gift during the tour of Canada.
