Make a statement. A rare rhodium plated iconic and playful panther brooch. Features black, sapphire and clear round-cut Swarovski crystals embellished with emerald green eyes. Safety-catch pin closure. Signed Kenneth Lane. The panther animal represents power and protection. This animal is a symbol of valor, courage and determination. Kenneth Jay Lane’s “big cat” pieces were inspired by the Cartier`s fine jewellery created in the 1940s and 1950s for the Duchess of Windsor. Rhodium plate and Swarovski crystals, 6 cm x 2.5 cm ABOUT THE DESIGNER Initially working for Hattie Carnegie, and beginning his career as a shoe designer, Kenneth Jay Lane created baubles in his free time. His first costume jewellery show at New York's Saks Fifth Avenue sold out in one day. His pieces were coveted by the Duchess of Windsor, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy. By the 1960`s the company became known as K.J.L and were producing brooches and other pieces that reflected Asian influences, incorporating everything from Buddhas to dragons to Indian Goddesses.
