1980s A Rare Vintage Chanel Cuff

The most desired label in the world. An exceptionally rare gold plated oversized cuff. Features rows of various textures complimented with CHANEL script with a central row of stars. Hinged closure with safety clasps. Stamped with Chanel authenticity mark. Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel was intrigued by stars and comets. Every morning, when a child Chanel would walk across the corridor of polished pebbles that were arranged in geometric patterns with five-pointed stars. These memories were to inspire the theme of her first jewellery collection, Bijoux de Diamants, in Paris in 1932. Many years later this theme was reintroduced into her collections. She was one of the most influential fashion icons of all time. During a very brief career as a cabaret singer, Chanel performed in clubs in Vichy and Moulins where she was nicknamed “Coco.” Vintage Chanel jewellery is generally bold in design, gold or silver plated with distinctive colouring. Her iconic CC's seen on so many of her creations was an interpretation of a stained glass window in the Aubazine Abbey, Correze, in France where she spent her early years in the orphanage at Aubazine.
