Signed A&S for Attwood and Sawyer. Queen Alexandra was known to wear countless star and crescent moon brooches across her bodice thus creating a revival of star and crescent shaped motif jewellery. Stars and crescents were popular motifs since the 17th century with women of the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian eras adding diamond starbursts and crescent jewels to their collections, inspired by the fascination for astronomy and astrology. Silver plate and Swarovski crystals, 4 cm ABOUT THE DESIGNER Established in England in the mid-fifties, Attwood & Sawyer specialised in creating costume reproductions of fine jewellery. Many of their most popular items were interpretations of the Duchess of Windsor's, ( Wallis Simpson ) personal collection given to her by King Edward VIII. Their high quality approach to bold costume jewellery is now very sought after. The brand had a very strong presence across the UK and Europe, and went on to produce the jewellery for the television series "Dallas" and "Dynasty" in the 80`s. It continues trading today as Buckley Jewellery Ltd. PRODUCT CODE: WPN001110
