Her iconic CC `s seen on so many of her creations was her interpretation of a stained glass window in the Aubazine Abbey, Correze, in France where she spent her early years in its orphanage. Venice was a place that became Gabrielle Chanel’s major source of inspiration outside of France. The tarnished gold in the Byzantine mosaics added distinct character to her creations.
