Description
Undeniable elegance. Gold plated maple leaf brooch. Features textured gold plate with discrete shiny gold trim. Closes with a safety catch. Signed Trifari. The Maple leaf is the emblem of Canada. It is suggested that The Queen Mother, then Queen Elizabeth, received a maple leaf brooch from George VI before the couple toured Canada in 1939 - Although another version implies it was a gift during the tour of Canada. It was then given to her daughter, our late Queen in 1951 who lent it to The Duchess of Cornwall and Duchess of Cambridge on their first trips to Canada. Gold plate, 5 cm ABOUT THE DESIGNER Trifari created some of the most desirable costume jewellery of the twentieth century, many of its designers having trained at Cartier. The company patented its own non-tarnish metal, calling it Trifanium and was first to copyright its jewellery designs. PRODUCT CODE: WPN000104
